The exhibition Journey to the Origins of the Cinematograph offers a fascinating voyage through the evolution of the devices that paved the way for its invention.
It is divided into two complementary sections: on the one hand, interactive replicas specially built in-house for public interaction; on the other, a collection of authentic antiques from the world of pre-cinema.
Zinematik is pleased to take you on a stroll from Chinese shadow theatre to the birth of the moving images.

The exhibition is divided into two complementary parts:
On one hand, interactive replicas that are manually operated, accompanied by illustrative panels with a brief history of each device and an explanation of how it works. On the other, pre-cinematographic antiques displayed in showcases with corresponding labels.
With the exhibition Journey to the Origins of the Cinematograph, Zinematik offers not only an educational and engaging exploration of cinema’s past but also connects visitors with the evolution of technology and visual culture. This compelling and versatile cultural initiative is well-suited for display in a wide variety of venues.
Designed for a broad audience including students, cinema enthusiasts, and cultural professionals, it is especially relevant for educational and training institutions.
Our installations have been featured in a wide range of venues, including the CosmoCaixa Barcelona Science Museum, the Catalonia Film Library, the Terrassa Science Museum, and various CaixaForum centers in Seville, Valencia, Girona, Tarragona, and Lleida. We’ve also participated in the anniversaries of historic cinemas, the Barcelona Science Festival, the Revela’t Photography Festival, and many other cultural events and institutions.
